Marketing Video Production Project: Canonical

Video Marketing Services

If your product, service, or idea takes more than a few words to explain, animated marketing videos can make it easier for customers to understand why it matters.

We create explainer videos, product walkthroughs, brand films, and social media videos for companies selling complex products and services. Our video marketing approach is especially useful for software, infrastructure, financial services, and other subjects that are difficult, expensive, or impractical to film.

Animation also gives your marketing team more flexibility. Screens, numbers, messaging, and product features can be updated later without organizing another shoot.

Our Video Production Process

Strategy

We start by getting clear on your goals, your audience, and what you want the video to accomplish. Then we develop the concept and creative direction that becomes the foundation for the script and the rest of the production.

Script

Our writers get to work, developing a script that matches your intent and speaks to your audience. The right words, emotional triggers, and story structure all play a key role in the success of your message. If the story sucks, animation won’t save it.

Storyboard

Next, we sketch out the video scene by scene. The storyboard lets you see how the story will come together, where key moments land, and how the visuals support the script. Once refined and approved, we move to production.

Design

We design every character, graphic, and prop from scratch, then prepare the artwork for animation. An animatic is prepared to show our ideas on the the planned timing and pacing of the different scenes.

Animation

With the visuals approved, we move into animation and sound design. Voiceover, music, and sound effects are added to complete the piece, followed by final revisions to make sure everything looks and sounds right.

Launch

With the final video approved, we prepare everything for delivery. You get the final video file plus 10–15 cutdowns and supporting assets designed to help you get more mileage from the video across different channels.

Video Marketing Solutions

Sales Videos

Sales videos support a conversation that is already happening. They live in outbound email, in a proposal, and in the deck a rep walks through on a call.

They can be shorter and blunter than an ad, because the viewer already knows who you are. The three we make most often: a 60 second overview a rep sends after a first call, a short piece that answers the objection which kills most of your deals.

Product Videos

A product video shows the thing working. For software that means real screens and real flows, animated so we can slow down the moment that matters and skip the parts nobody needs to watch, like loading states and form filling.

They belong on product and pricing pages, in onboarding email, and in sales follow-up.

Brand Storytelling Videos

Brand videos earn attention instead of buying it. They work when there is a real reason the company exists: a problem the founders ran into, a decision the industry got wrong, or a customer whose situation your audience recognises immediately.

The rule we hold to is that the product arrives late and small. If it shows up in the first ten seconds the piece reads as an ad and gets treated like one.

Paid social feeds

Assume the sound is off and the phone is vertical. The idea has to survive as pictures and on-screen text alone.

Feed videos are built at 1:1 or 9:16, with the important action kept inside a safe area, and the first three seconds written and boarded as a self-contained unit.

Landing pages

A landing page video should be shorter than most people expect. The visitor already clicked, so the job is to remove doubt quickly, not to introduce the company again.

Sixty to ninety seconds is usually the ceiling. Keep the play button visible without scrolling, and do not autoplay with sound.

YouTube pre-roll

The viewer can skip after five seconds, so those five seconds have to earn the next twenty five. Sound is usually on, which means voiceover and sound design can carry more weight than they do in a feed.

We treat skippable pre-roll as a 15 to 30 second cut with the message front-loaded.

Video Marketing FAQs

We start with a discovery meeting to understand your goals, your audience, and where the video will run. From there we develop the creative concept, then move through script, storyboard, style frames, illustration and design, voiceover, and animation, ending with the finished video and the formats you need to launch it.

You work with a named producer, and each stage ends in a written approval before the next one starts. Nothing moves forward until you have signed off on the stage before it, and feedback is collected in one place per round rather than across email threads, which is the main reason projects slip.

There is no single right answer, but here is what we see work. For marketing purposes, 1 to 2 minutes is usually the sweet spot. Training, education, and other long-form content runs 3 to 5 minutes or longer. Social media content typically starts at 6 seconds and goes up to a minute.

A 30 to 60 second marketing video typically takes 2 to 3 weeks. A 1 to 2 minute video typically takes 4 to 6 weeks. More complex work such as 3D animation production can run 6 to 12 weeks. The variables are the animation style, how much custom illustration is involved, and how quickly feedback comes back at each stage.

When we produce a series, delivery dates are staggered and the later videos land within days of each other, because the design system is already built by then. Rush schedules are possible depending on availability, and may require a higher budget.

Most marketing videos we produce fall between $5,000 and $10,000. Premium work with custom character animation and heavier illustration runs $10,000 to $25,000, and enterprise projects with multiple videos, localisation, or 3D run $25,000 to $50,000. AI-assisted production is available from $2,500 to $4,000 where the brief allows it.

What moves the number is the animation style (2D motion graphics, character animation, or 3D), the length, how much of the artwork is built from scratch, and how many cutdowns and language versions you need.

Where the budget goes is fairly consistent: roughly 10 percent on script, 25 percent on concept and storyboard, 15 percent on design and illustration, 45 percent on animation and editing, and 5 percent on voiceover and music. That split explains most price differences. A quote that looks unusually cheap has often compressed the concept and storyboard stage, which is exactly where problems are cheapest to fix. See our explainer video cost breakdown for detail.

Every stage of production comes with up to three rounds of revisions: script, storyboard, style frames, and animation. Each stage ends with written sign-off before the next one begins, so feedback lands while changes are still cheap to make.

The structure is deliberate. Unlimited revisions usually means unlimited within a stage you have already passed, which is not the same thing. Additional rounds can be requested when the need arises.

The standard delivery is the 16:9 master, the aspect ratio cutdowns agreed at kickoff (1:1 and 9:16 for feeds and stories), an SRT caption file, a burned-in caption version for sound-off placements, and still frames pulled from the video for use as thumbnails and email images.

Agree the full file list in the original quote. Reframing a finished video into vertical is not a crop, because layouts, text positions, and timing have to be rebuilt. Planned in from the storyboard stage the extra cost is small. Requested after sign-off it is closer to a new job.

They need to, and it is worth checking before you spend media budget. Standard stock music licences and some voiceover buyouts cover web and organic use only, with paid media and broadcast priced separately and often capped at twelve months.

We confirm the intended use, term, and territory up front and licence to match, so a campaign does not have to be pulled or re-cut later. Finding this out after a campaign is live is expensive, because the fix is a re-record or a re-score.

Once the project is complete and agreed payments are settled, you receive the final video files and full copyright to use the video as you please.

Ownership of the finished export and access to the editable working files are two different things, and the second is what lets the video be updated years later. If you expect to need the project files, raise it at kickoff so it is agreed in writing. Tell us up front too if the work is confidential and should stay out of our portfolio.

Yes, and this is one of the practical advantages of animation. Because the project files stay editable, a changed screen, a renamed feature, or a new price can be swapped without reshooting anything.

Tell us at kickoff which parts of the video are likely to date, and we will build those scenes so they are simple to replace later.
