Benefits of financial services videos

Make Your Message Clear

Financial services videos make it easy to distill complex messages into simple, bite-sized narratives.

Services like insurance and investment advisory can be challenging to communicate. Motion graphics or 2D animation turn your content into engaging videos.

Humanize Your Brand

Your financial brand might be perceived as distant, indifferent, and even unrelatable by your customers.

Finance videos use flexible storytelling, heart-warming narratives, and relevant characters to humanize a financial brand and make it more relatable.

Build Brand Identity and Trust

Trust is the financial industry’s foundation. Without it, financial brands find it challenging to thrive.

Having worked with multiple financial clients to create explainer videos, we understand how to craft financial marketing videos that communicate clearly.

Get on Google’s Radar

Google loves videos, and so should your financial brand. Since most people prefer watching videos to reading articles, using financial video will place your brand in a highly visible position in search results.

Create Branded Video Content

Branded content does not have to be dry and dull. Instead of stuffing your financial services website with endless text that most web visitors do not read anyway, Creamy Animation can help you use financial services videos to create catchy, engaging, and watchable content.

Show Products and Services Clearly

Brand, product, and service overviews are marketing essentials in the financial industry. Although graphics, images, and text play an essential role, financial videos can make them more appealing and drive more engagement with prospective and existing customers.

FINANCIAL SERVICES VIDEO PRODUCTION PROCESS

Discovery + Strategy

A financial services project starts with two questions most studios skip: who signs off, and what are we allowed to say. On the first call we agree the business goal, the audience, and the named person in compliance or legal who will approve the script. That approver goes into the schedule as a step, not an afterthought.

We also ask for your existing disclosure language, brand guidelines and any wording your legal team has already cleared, so we build on approved copy instead of writing around it. Then we set a short brief: one message per video, the terms we will define on screen, the claims we will not make, and the delivery dates.

Script + Design

The script is written as a document and approved as a document. Plain sentences, defined terms, and every disclaimer typed out in full so your reviewer can mark it up before a single frame is drawn. We do not invent figures, rates or outcomes. If a number appears on screen, you supply it and you approve it.

Once the wording is locked we storyboard scene by scene, so you can see where each disclosure sits, how long it holds, and whether the type is large enough to read. Fixing that at storyboard takes an hour. Fixing it after animation takes days.

For ideas, explore our financial literacy video examples.

Delivery + Launch

Animation, editing, sound and mastering happen in house, so a late compliance note goes straight to the person who built the scene instead of into a queue. Changes to disclaimer wording, an on-screen figure or a fund name are handled as editable text layers wherever possible, which is why they usually turn round in a day rather than a week.

You receive platform-ready files for your website, paid social and internal channels, plus captions and a transcript. Final approval before publication sits with your compliance team, and we hold delivery until they confirm it.

What's your typical turnaround time?

A 30 to 60 second financial video is usually ready in 2 to 3 weeks. A 1 to 2 minute video usually takes 4 to 6 weeks.

Budget one to three weeks on top of that if the script has to clear a compliance or legal review, which most finance projects do. We book that window at kickoff rather than discovering it halfway through. On a series, delivery dates are staggered so your reviewers are not handed six scripts in the same week.

How much does a video cost?

Most financial services explainers land between $5,000 and $10,000. Premium work with custom characters, detailed illustration or longer runtimes sits at $10,000 to $25,000, and multi-video enterprise programmes run $25,000 to $50,000.

Length, animation style and the number of review rounds move the number more than anything else. See our explainer video cost breakdown, or request a quote for a firm figure.

What are your copyright terms?

You have full copyrights to the videos produced and usage rights for all assets provided.

An initial down payment is required to cover the initial costs of taking on your project, depending on the size of the project plus other variables.

SaaS Explainer Video Agancy

Results-driven approach

We build each financial video around one measurable job: open more accounts, cut support calls about a fee, get advisers using a product correctly, or explain a change to existing customers before they call.

That goal decides the length, the call to action and what gets cut. If a scene does not move the viewer toward it, it does not survive the storyboard. We agree the measure of success at kickoff so the finished video can be judged on something other than taste.

Creative Research and Insights

Before writing, we read the material your customers actually see: the fee schedule, the product page, the disclosure sheet, the questions your support team keeps answering. That is where the confusion lives.

We have made finance videos for RBC Bank, Noyack Capital, LSI Credit Solutions, Assurance Wilson, Accounting Aid Society and Edge Alert, which covers retail banking, private markets, credit, insurance and financial literacy. Each has a different reviewer and a different tolerance for plain language, and we plan for that rather than assume it.

Tried and tested process

Script, storyboard, animation, delivery. Each stage ends with a written approval, and in financial services the script approval is the one that protects the schedule, because it is the last cheap place to change wording.

Revisions are structured rather than open ended: two rounds at script, two at storyboard and one after the first animated cut, with compliance-driven wording changes handled separately so a legal correction never eats a creative revision. You keep full copyright and usage rights to the finished videos and the assets built for them.

FINANCIAL VIDEO SERVICES FAQS

What is financial services video production?

Financial services video production is the making of animated or live-action video for banks, insurers, investment firms, fintechs and credit organisations. It differs from general marketing video in one way that matters: the script normally passes a compliance or legal review, and disclosures have to be legible and on screen long enough to read.

Most financial services explainers cost $5,000 to $10,000. Premium productions with custom characters or detailed illustration run $10,000 to $25,000, and enterprise programmes covering several videos run $25,000 to $50,000. An AI-assisted route is available from $2,500 for simpler pieces. In finance the number of compliance review rounds is usually the largest single cost driver.

A 30 to 60 second video takes about 2 to 3 weeks and a 1 to 2 minute video about 4 to 6 weeks. Compliance or legal review commonly adds one to three weeks, so we schedule it in from the start. Series are delivered on staggered dates.

Product and fee explainers, onboarding and account-opening walkthroughs, adviser and broker enablement videos, investor and fund communications, insurance policy explainers, financial literacy content, and internal videos covering policy or process changes.

You receive full copyright and usage rights to all finished videos and design assets.

Yes. We work in 2D animation, 3D, motion graphics and live action, and often blend styles within one video, for example animated diagrams over a filmed presenter.

They shorten the explanation of a product or fee that customers keep phoning about, give sales and advisers one approved version of the story, and let a compliance-cleared message be reused across the website, paid social and onboarding email without being rewritten each time.

Compliance review is the schedule, not a formality

In most industries the video schedule is set by animation. In financial services it is set by review. Compliance or legal review commonly adds one to three weeks to a financial project, so it goes into the plan at kickoff instead of being absorbed later as a delay.

Advertising and financial promotion rules differ by country and regulator. We do not interpret them for you, and nothing here is legal or regulatory advice. Your compliance team owns final approval. We do not write performance figures, rates, fee levels or outcomes that you have not given us. If a number is not in your approved source material, it does not go on screen.

Whiteboard Animation Services

What we agree before anyone writes

Four things, in the first week: the named compliance or legal approver, and how long they realistically need; the disclosure wording you already use, taken from cleared material rather than written fresh by us; the claims that are off limits, including anything that implies a guaranteed outcome; and whether the audience is retail, professional or internal.

Explainer Videos

The script is approved as a document

Before animation starts, your reviewer gets a plain script with every disclaimer written out in full, every on-screen figure marked, and every claim traceable to material you supplied. They can redline it like any other document. A wording change at script stage costs minutes. The same change after animation costs far more.

Disclosures are designed, not bolted on

We treat disclosures as part of the layout: legible size, real contrast against the background, and enough time on screen for an average reader to finish them at a comfortable pace. Where the text is long we hold the frame or split it across two, rather than shrink it. Disclosure text stays on its own editable layer.

Explaining financial products without over-promising

The hardest part of a financial brief is rarely the animation. It is making a fee structure, an index or an insurance policy genuinely clear while staying inside what can honestly be said. These are the same habits we apply to other regulated work, including healthcare video production, where the audience has to understand it the first time.

Show the mechanism, not the outcome

A product video works when the viewer understands how the thing behaves, not what it will pay. For a fee structure that means the order of operations: what is charged, when, and on what basis. If a figure appears it is shown as an example with its assumptions visible, never as an expectation.

Language that survives review

Plain wording clears compliance faster than careful hedging, because the reviewer can see exactly what is being claimed. One idea per sentence, and one message per video. Define a term the first time it appears. Prefer can, may and is designed to over will. Say what the product does not cover, not only what it does.

Accessibility and plain language

Financial content gets watched on phones, under time pressure, often with the sound off. Captions on every video, supplied as a separate file so they stay editable. A full transcript for accessibility, for search, and for your compliance file. On-screen figures set large enough to read on a phone, with contrast that survives platform compression.

How to choose a financial services video production company

Most studios show a similar reel. The differences that matter only appear once a compliance reviewer is in the room, so ask about that before you ask about style.

Six questions worth asking any studio

  • How do you handle compliance rounds? A useful answer names an approver, describes a document-based script sign-off and states how many rounds are included. A vague answer means those weeks will land on your schedule unannounced.
  • Are disclaimers designed or bolted on? Ask to see a finished video where the disclosure is legible and held long enough to read.
  • Is on-screen text editable after delivery? If a rate or fee changes next quarter you want a text edit, not a rebuild.
  • What do I own at the end? Ask for full copyright to the finished video and usage rights to the assets, in writing.
  • How are revisions structured? Unlimited revisions sound generous and usually mean the studio has priced defensively. Fixed rounds, with compliance wording changes handled separately from creative ones, is fairer for regulated work.
  • Have you worked with regulated clients? Ask which sectors, not only which logos.

One more: ask who actually writes the script. If the writer never speaks to your compliance reviewer, every note is being translated twice.

What it costs, and what drives the number

A standard financial explainer runs $5,000 to $10,000 and covers most single videos. Premium work with custom characters, detailed illustration or longer runtimes runs $10,000 to $25,000. Multi-video enterprise programmes with versions and localisation run $25,000 to $50,000. An AI-assisted route from $2,500 to $4,000 suits simpler internal pieces.

On a typical project the budget splits roughly as script 10%, concept and storyboard 25%, design and illustration 15%, animation and editing 45%, voiceover and music 5%.

In financial services the main cost driver is review. Every round of compliance changes that arrives after storyboard approval pulls work back into the 45% that is hardest to redo. Two things keep it down: approving the script as a document before animation begins, and keeping disclosures on editable layers. Length is the second driver, and trimming a two minute script to ninety seconds usually saves more than switching animation style. Full breakdown in our explainer video cost guide.
