In this project we created a series of educational videos to help students understand how to make good career choices. Each video touches on different topics addressing challenges facing college students.
Western University commissioned Creamy to create educational videos to help deliver their core concepts and tools from their “Life Design” theoretical framework.
The goal was to use educational video content in various curricular and co-curricular concepts. Considering people’s attention spans, we aimed to create short videos that could also be converted to bite size clips for social media.
We settled on using simple but striking visuals and a young female voice that would appeal to our target demographic.
Each topic was designed to support students in thinking different about career planning at an early stage in their degree program.
We worked with the Western University team to dial write four explainer video scripts. Though there was a lot of content to draw from, we managed to shorten everything into an average of 60 second education video clips.
The creamy team developed storyboards, which were presented and evaluated by the client.
After several revisions the storyboards were sent over to illustrators, who turned the sketches into marvellous pieces of art. The illustrations were presented as style frames for client approval, then sent for animation.
Our motion graphic designers did their magic, bringing the visuals to life and creating videos that impressed the team at Western University.
The final training videos used a combination of creative script writing, unique visuals, an energetic voiceover, and quirky music, were a delight to the team at Western University. With the main target audience being young college students, fresh out of high school, we needed to create motion graphics videos that were eye-catching and relevant.
