We partnered with Small Business BC, a nonprofit that supports small businesses in British Columbia, Canada.
In this project we created a series of engaging animated videos, covering different topics related to place accessibility.

The goal was to create a series of videos to help small businesses recognize the importance of accessibility in their workplaces.
This series of five videos covered several topics, and was delivered using motion graphics and abstract visual storytelling.
To match the style of writing, we opted to use abstract graphics and animation instead of animated characters.
This allowed us to use metaphors and that are often complicated to illustrate, but can be communicated well with animated graphics.
Once the scripts were approved we kicked off our story development, collaborating with the SBBC team to ensure the visuals were on point. Our proposed concept was to use abstract visuals and images.
This challenged us to develop unique ways to communicate through lines, shapes, images, and animated text. Using actual images in the storyboard helped streamline our process or finding the right images to help tell the story.
The final graphics were very minimalistic but vibrant. This helped us delivers visually captivating training videos while maintaining the company’s brand.
Using a wider color palette gave us the creative freedom to explore an aesthetically pleasing look. We also had to keep in mind the need to accommodate people with visual challenges. As complex as this may have been, the final graphics resonated well to our target audience.
The final result was five engaging and highly informative videos. The message in each video was clear and concise, allowing SBBC to educate small business owners on now to navigate the challenges of workplace accessibility.
While this may have a challenging project, we got to learn a lot about accommodating people with disability. An eye opener on seemingly small things that are very important for people that face workplace challenges due to certain disabilities.
If you’re a business owner or decision maker at your company, these videos are a must watch for you and your team. Find out more about our training video sevices.
